Entrance

There are two entrances for visitors in wheelchairs: From the entrance on the corner of Niels Brocks Gade and Dantes Plads, wheelchair users have access to the ticketing area and the cloakroom in the basement and to the collection of Danish painting, to Café Glyptoteket, the loggia and the Museum Bookstore.

From the entrance at Tietgensgade 25, there is access to the Winter Garden, the Ancient Mediterranean rooms, the Central Hall, the Collection of French Painting and the Collection of Antiquities. Please note: it is only possible to visit the Collection of Antiquities if one is able to manage the individual steps between the exhibition rooms unaided or with the help of a companion.

The Glyptotek was built at a time when the standards of access were not as high as they are today. The museum was constructed with steps leading up to the main entrance, the Winter Garden, the Central Hall and most of the galleries. The architecture, as well as the status of the building as a preserved monument, prevents complete access for visitors in wheelchairs. But if you are able to walk up a few stairs, it is possible to get around the entire museum.

ASSISTANCE FOR BLIND AND VISUALLY HANDICAPPED VISITORS

Visitors with visual handicaps may be given permission to touch the statues in designated galleries. Visits to the museum must be arranged in advance in order to be certain that the museum has staff available for assistance. Guide dogs are allowed.
